Heat is your main control
Copper, vapor, and condensation all respond to one thing you control: heat. This single-burner propane stove is made for copper distillers from 6 to 30 gallons. It has a high-output cast iron burner head that heats up fast and spreads the flame evenly, so your runs stay stable once you find your setting.
Walkthrough: setup
- Choose an outdoor or well-ventilated spot. This burner is for outdoor or well-ventilated use only.
- Set the heavy-duty metal frame on firm, level ground and center your still's pot over the burner head.
- Connect the included hose assembly to your propane tank. The tank is not included.
- Check every connection before you light it, and follow standard propane safety practices.
Your first water run
Fill the pot with plain water and bring it up to temperature. Then turn the flame down slowly until the still runs steady. Write down where the valve sits. That note is your starting point next time. The top heat guard helps protect against oil or liquid spills and keeps the flame away from the hose connection. The bottom heat shield protects parts and surfaces underneath from heat damage.
Maintenance between runs
Let the burner cool all the way down. Wipe down the frame, keep the burner head clear, and look over the hose assembly before every session. The burner is built to handle long heating cycles. A quick check each time keeps it running reliably.
Who it's for
It's for anyone running an outdoor copper still, anyone replacing or upgrading an old propane burner, and anyone who prefers propane over electric heat.
A still can also be used for water, essential oils, and, with a permit, fuel alcohol. Distilling alcohol requires federal TTB permits. Always follow federal, state, and local law.
