The pot is where everything starts. You put in the liquid, apply heat, and vapor rises. Every other part of a still depends on what happens in this vessel. If your current pot is worn out, or you're building a custom copper distiller from parts, this listing is for the copper pot by itself.
What you're getting
This is a pot-only listing. Each copper pot is sold on its own and does not include a thumper, condenser, or accessories. It suits anyone who already has the other components and just needs a good copper pot. Sizes are 6, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, and 60 gallons. Prices start at $599.
Walkthrough: getting a new pot ready
- Inspect it. Look over the seams and openings so you know your equipment before it's ever under heat.
- Clean it. Wash it with hot water, then do a mild acid rinse (vinegar or citric acid) to remove surface residue. Rinse well.
- Connect it. Dry-fit the pot to your existing thumper or condenser and check that every connection lines up.
- Do a water run. Fill it partway with plain water and heat it slowly. Watch for leaks, see how fast it comes up to temperature, and take notes. This is your baseline.
Ongoing maintenance
Copper reacts with what it touches, which is part of why people like it. It also means the pot tarnishes over time. Rinse it after every use and dry it completely. Clean it more thoroughly whenever buildup appears. A pot you look after is easier to control, run after run.
