Is the 220v kit right for your still?
This kit is built for stills 10 gallons and up. For stills under 10 gallons, the 110v unit is enough. For stills over 60 gallons, add a second 220v element for faster heat-up. It works with all American Copper Works copper stills, including pot stills, thumper setups, and worm condensers.
What comes with it
- 220v electric heating element with a standard 1-inch NPT pipe thread
- Precision temperature controller
- All necessary wiring and connectors
- Optional stainless ferrule setup, available on request
Walkthrough: from box to first heat
Thread the element into your still's fitting and connect the controller. Make sure you have a proper 220v outlet. A licensed electrician can confirm the circuit if you're unsure. Fill the pot before you power on. Then run plain water as your test batch: set the controller, watch the temperature rise, and write down how it responds. That water run is your calibration, done with nothing on the line.
The scientist's advantage
With electric heat, you can hold the exact temperature range you want, run after run. Steady, controlled heat makes your cuts cleaner and easier to repeat. Indoors, there's no open flame and no weather to work around.
